Focus On What You Can Control

“You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.”

— Marcus Aurelius

Planet Earth is the home to billions of humans and animals – all with unique lives.

There is a range of culture, government, lifestyles, careers, education, religion, etc. and there is not one correct way of doing it all.

That’s the beauty of it all.

But it becomes ugly when people start trying to control & manipulate other people; Trying to force their beliefs onto others because they think they’re right (or usually because they have more power than the others.)

It happens all the time: one person or usually a group of people trying to control other groups & individuals… (abuse of power)

Those people don’t realize that the real power comes from controlling your own mind – & not controlling other people (but those people will never understand that).

Most people have never experienced the power that is within them – since they are distracted by the distractions & manipulations of the external world, politics, sports, work, getting in each others way, etc.

and then the people become distracted, confused, angry, overwhelmed, annoyed, etc, and then they pass it on.

But when you take control of your own mind – you gain energy and focus that others lose in trying to control others, since you aren’t doing that.

The world becomes filled with opportunity & beauty.

All because you gave up trying to control others & you focused entirely on controlling yourself.

Meditation is a good place to begin.

Cultivate & Protect Your Happiness

“God did not intend my happiness to rest with someone else.”

— Aurelius

But here’s a quote relating to modern times:

“Psychic spies from China try to steal your mind’s elation.”

— Californication Song

It’s not just Chinese psychics who operate to manipulate & destroy your mind – it’s entire governments from multiple countries.

It trickles down too so now even “normal” people go around bothering others minds… to me, that’s not normal. That’s violent & sick. It’s dehumanizing. But people do it. Governments do it, and it trickles down…

what kind of world is this?

Anyway, even if there are masses of manipulated dead minds operating to turn others into zombies just like them, don’t be bitten.

Or if they try to bite you, tell them to fuck off, because the walking dead zombies of today truly are walking around & turning others into dead zombies.

Don’t take their bait, and don’t be bitten.

Stand up for your mind & heart.

Keep your mind, lose the zombies.

Adversity is a Gift

“Let me embrace thee, sour adversity, for wise men say it is the wisest course.”
—William Shakespeare

You lost the election.

You bet on the wrong stock.

You missed the game winning field goal.

You fell down face first into a pile of mud.

And it hurt.

It still does sometimes.

But you weren’t meant to remain in pain.

The pain – the adversity, is an opportunity to grow, to learn, to prosper, but in the moments it happens it’s almost impossible to appreciate.

Adversity doesn’t feel good, but it carries within it a gift.

The gift of experience.

“Experience is the teacher of all things.”
—Julius Caesar

The gift may be hidden, but it’s there, waiting for you to find it, open it, & move forward – stronger, wiser, and ready for the next opportunity.
