Sticky & Flowing Mind

Are you ever walking in a public space and you pass by a person and they get in your head?

It happens to me sometimes.

I’m focused on living my life, going somewhere, and then a person passes me and then they get in my mind and I can’t seem to push them out.

I don’t usually have this problem, and it happens less, but it does happen sometimes, and I call this a sticky mind.

When I’m flowing, I’m focused, leading my life, centered within myself & accomplishing things.

When I’m sticky minded I’m distracted by people outside of myself – or noises, or anything that is not my goals and dreams…

If it happens to me, it must happen to others. Does this ever happen to you?

Anyway, something I remind myself of is that “these thoughts will pass,” and I will be centered again soon and focused.

I don’t need to fight these thoughts out of my mind – although sometimes I try doing that.

I need to just relax my mind & not take the distracting thoughts of strangers so seriously. It will pass. I will have a stronger mind. I am an empowered individual.

To Love In The Midst of Chaos

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

— MLK jr.

MLK jr was one a kind.

There are only a very few examples of humans acting like Jesus Christ, and MLK jr was one of them.

Throughout his life & his time as a leader he was often threatened, assaulted, his house was partly bombed, and some of these assaults came from police officers….

MLK jr never threatened anyone back. He basically turned the other cheek, similar to Jesus, & his impact will live on forever.

How can someone love at all after being attacked so many times?

2,000 Year Old Writing Imagine God

If then you do not make yourself equal to God, you cannot apprehend God; for like is known by like.

Leap clear of all that is corporeal, and make yourself grown to a like expanse with that greatness which is beyond all measure; rise above all time and become eternal; then you will apprehend God.

Think that for you too nothing is impossible; deem that you too are immortal, and that you are able to grasp all things in your thought, to know every craft and science; find your home in the haunts of every living creature; make yourself higher than all heights and lower than all depths; bring together in yourself all opposites of quality, heat and cold, dryness and fluidity; think that you are everywhere at once, on land, at sea, in heaven; think that you are not yet begotten, that you are in the womb, that you are young, that you are old, that you have died, that you are in the world beyond the grave; grasp in your thought all of this at once, all times and places, all substances and qualities and magnitudes together; then you can apprehend God.

But if you shut up your soul in your body, and abase yourself, and say “I know nothing, I can do nothing; I am afraid of earth and sea, I cannot mount to heaven; I know not what I was, nor what I shall be,” then what have you to do with God.

—Hermes Trismegistus

Do This To Be More Self-Empowered

“Nature is not mute. It is humans who are deaf.”

Noises surround you daily, keeping you moving, but in what direction?

There really are certain “powers that be” that live to create distracting noises.

They want to keep you in fear, in anxiety, in anger, etc…basically, they want you to be dis-empowered.

They want to control you & your life & they have brainwashed the masses to try to distract you too, and to bring you into their confusion.

What you need to do to begin to get out of the confusion of the conformist masses, is first, recognize this is really happening.

Second, think about your life & what sort of life you would like to be living.

What does your ideal life look like?

Dare to dream.

Dare to step away from the conformists confused masses & live your best life.

Before listening to the distracting noises, listen to yourself. Listen to nature. Go within.

The Fragile Ego

“The ego is always on guard against any kind of perceived diminishment. Automatic ego-repair mechanisms come into effect to restore the mental form of “me.” When someone blames or criticizes me, that to the ego is a diminishment of self, and it will immediately attempt to repair its diminished sense of self through self-justification, defense, or blaming.”

— Tolle

The ego can be fragile – easily offended, easily angered, feeling threatened easily, quick to blame others…

Is there anything beyond the human ego?

Obviously, yes, but most of us grow up in environments that enforce & reinforce individual egos – in both inferior & superior ways; artificial identities.

We learn to identify with our race & country – & to feel threatened by other races & countries… We are taught to identify with where we were born & to imagine that our country & race is superior to other countries.

Is anyone’s country or race superior to another? No, but people are not taught this. People learn egoic identities from an early age & egos are reinforced time & time again until people genuinely start believing in lies: that their race & country are superior to other races & countries .. politicians especially reinforce theirs & others egos by preaching supremacy, & then pastors in churches reinforce politics by preaching supremacy by supporting racism, sexism, egoic ways of thinking…

the blind flow of the ego has led us all here… will we continue with the fragile & easily threatened egoic ways that cause wars, hatred, violence?

… or will something new emerge?

Something beyond the ego? …

Discard Emphatic Trifles

“At times the whole world seems to be in conspiracy to importune you with emphatic trifles. Friend, client, child, sickness, fear, want, charity, all knock at once at thy closet door, and say,–‘Come out unto us.’ But keep thy state; come not into their confusion…

…The power men possess to annoy me, I give them by a weak curiosity. No man can come near me but through my act. What we love that we have, but by desire we bereave ourselves of the love.”

—Emerson

Conspiracy.

Was Emerson right?

Do people actually go out of their way to bother others? – To try & bring emphatic trifles into another’s life?

I can’t imagine any decent person doing that to someone, but this world is filled with a whole range of people.

It’s filled with people seeking power, liars, manipulators, greed, ego .. all for what?

People don’t even know…

Some light would be nice. Some truth.

& some encouragement even maybe – rather than discouragement & bothering others… but if you want to be encouraged, begin by encouraging yourself.

Don’t enter the confusion of the masses & of the criminal “leaders” of today…beware of their greed & their shallow ways, and just go your own way.

Love yourself, & don’t ever expect love from a lying politician or any of the criminals in the “upper” class.

12 John Muir Quotes On The Necessity of Nature In Our Lives

1 “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”

2 “Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity.”

3 “Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.”

4 “I am losing precious days. I am degenerating into a machine for making money. I am learning nothing in this trivial world of men. I must break away and get out into the mountains to learn the news.”

5 “The mountains are calling and I must go.”

6 “As long as I live, I’ll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I’ll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I’ll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can”.

7 “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.”

8 “In every walk with Nature one receives far more than one seeks.”

9 “And into the forest I go, to lose my mind & find my soul.”

10 “On no subject are our ideas more warped and pitiable than on death. … Let children walk with nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life, and that the grave has no victory, for it never fights.”

11 “The world, we are told, was made especially for man — a presumption not supported by all the facts.”

12 “I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.”

Persevere

“Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald

You lost the game.

You won it next week.

You fell down.

You got back up.

You’ve been hated.

You’ve been loved.

Why is it easier for people to cling to the negative?

It could be, like Tupac said, that “fear is stronger than love.”

Or it could be the result of societies current dogmas.

Societies change, history shows us this, but it always begins at an individual level.

You may have been defeated once, or even hundreds of times, but life is not done with you yet.

Don’t confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.

Persevere.

To Break or Not To Break?

“The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.”
—Ernest Hemingway

Personally, I’m just thinking about whether to break from writing every day to writing once a week – or something like that.

But in relation to the Hemingway quote, yes, the world breaks us all.

“Life is suffering” said Buddha.

& it’s true. Life hurts. We all go through it. Your pain is valid.

The question is, where will you go from here?

What did you learn from your pain?

What are you still learning from it?

We are never too old to learn something new.

An old dog can learn new tricks.

It’s a matter of patience, persistence, and humility, to name a few, but the list goes on.

Reclaim Your Mind

“Reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.”
― Terence McKenna

Culture wants you to conform.

It wants you to blindly obey.

But you were born to be free.

You were born with a mind to think for yourself.

This is extremely difficult in societies that aggressively attack non-conformists.

“For nonconformity the world whips you with its displeasure.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

This choice is yours.

And yes, if you choose to think for yourself you will lose friends. Some family members may disown you. But what you will find in this process is the truth.

You will find genuine support from the few who are living their truths as well.

It is a risk, but it is a risk worth taking, and a risk that might possibly save the world.
