The Wisdom of Dreaming

“Sometimes dreams are wiser than waking.” – Black Elk

What does it mean to dream?

What does it be to awaken?

How can you know the difference?

Good question – you might find the answers within yourself one day.

For now, here are a few more quotes about dreams and the power of imagination:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.”
— Albert Einstein

“Imagination rules the world.”
— Napoleon Bonaparte

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.”
— Carl Sagan

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
— Einstein

“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.”

— William Shakespeare

“Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.”

The JOY Of Missing Out

Most people exist and never truly live.

The funny thing is, at some point in your life you’ll realize, if you ever had FOMO, that you weren’t missing out on anything important.

Most people never Truly live – most are only spectators – watching others live & commenting on other peoples’ lives…

Most exist, but never live.

Do you need other people to enjoy life? Or can you enjoy life with yourself first?

If you don’t enjoy spending time with yourself, do you think others will?

Love yourself first.

Look within before you look without.

The important question is: “Are you a spectator in life or are you a participant?”

“Are you merely watching other people live their life? Or do you have any life of your own within you?”

Enjoy time you have with yourself – it’s some of the most important time you’ll ever have in this life.

Don’t know where to begin?

Start Dreaming

Imagination Exercise

Imagine you are walking through knee-deep snow in the woods.

It’s Winter & the snow is still falling.

You are dressed in warm winter clothes; protected from the cold.

To grandmothers house you go. Alone.

You brought your favorite camera with you to take pictures of the gorgeous scenery surrounding you.

The sun is shining. It’s midday.

No one else is around.

Silence.

You breathe & enjoy this moment.

The Artist’s Life

Is a life of Art; painting, singing, dancing, writing, discovering, creating, exploring, dreaming.

These all fall into the category of Art, but so does teaching, cooking, cleaning, traveling, and working wherever you are – if they are worked upon with focused concentration & intentions of Love.

Anyone can be an artist, but only few are.

Where your mind goes, there you will go too…

“Everything you can imagine is real.”
― Pablo Picasso

The Power of The Dream

MLK jr. had a dream.

John Lennon imagined.

Jesus Christ lived a vision.

& the list goes on…

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
—Proverbs 29:18

Not only did the dreams of these greats serve as inspiration, they were necessary building blocks toward the quality of lives we live today as they continue to serve & inspire us to dream & take action toward our dreams.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho shares the dream.

Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth shares a vision.

Shakespeare said “Thoughts are but dreams till their effects be tried.”

& Einstein said “Imagination is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

Your thoughts & ideas — your dreams, hold more power than you think the do.

So what’s your dream?

What do you imagine?

What vision lives within you?

The Power of Your Imagination

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.”
-Albert Einstein

Einstein knew it.

Buddha knew it.

Jesus knew it.

& not only did they know it, they realized & embodied it – Imagination.

They of course had their own unique methods for sharing one of the most misunderstood truths within humanity, but they shared it.

It baffles me sometimes that we never learn about this in school – The Power of Imagination. We are almost always taught the opposite – Conform. Don’t question your teachers & adults because they are right! yea, that’s a big joke.

Ego has dominated the 20th century but it is loosening up in the 21st century. What we need now is Soul. Real Soul. & it’s happening.

Imagination comes from the Soul – True Imagination, & all the great spiritual teachers & great scientists understood this. That Imagination is not just some surreal & futile function of the human mind, but that it is playing a huge role in the manifestation of humanity & the lives of all beings.

“The human mind is our fundamental resource.”
— John F. Kennedy

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
— Romans 12:2

You have been gifted with the power of imagination. You can let it go to waste or you can learn more about it & play a role in the evolution of humanity.

The choice is truly yours.

Use Imagination to Create Your Life

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”
— Einstein

Einstein said imagination is the preview of life’s coming attractions, and imagination comes from within.

Our minds generate imagination, but are we doing the generating?

We are.
Our thoughts are shaping our future.

If some of the greatest minds of all time spoke on imagination, might it be important?

Can you use your imagination to change your life?
Yes.

How?
Begin with imagining your ideal life.

What does it look like?
How does it feel?

Take time to imagine it.

By dwelling in your imagination you are planting seeds of those images, which can manifest if you continually “water” it.

When other thoughts creep in, quickly remind yourself of the life you want. Focus on that and it has no choice but to manifest.

“The mind is the root from which all things grow if you can understand the mind, everything else is included. It’s like the root of a tree. All a tree’s fruit and flowers, branches and leaves depend on its root. If you nourish its root, a tree multiplies. If you cut its root, it dies. Those who understand the mind reach enlightenment with minimal effort.”

20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
